Renamed Stanford Inn celebrates heritage, honors history

The Inn at Wilderness Road has been renamed and is now called The Stanford Inn at Wilderness Road. This change represents a renewed goal to honor the heritage of its primary building.

Located on West Main Street, The Stanford Inn is in the same building that began operating as a hotel in 1880. It was named the Stanford Hotel in 1918 and served a vital role in a thriving community. This return to a historic name both preserves and celebrates the important history of downtown Stanford.

The Stanford Inn at Wilderness Road includes eight small guestrooms in the original Stanford Hotel building and five nearby guest houses that combine the beauty of the past with modern comforts.

“In all of the rooms and guest houses, we have preserved the original architectural features,” says Angela Correll, co-founder of Wilderness Road Hospitality. “We are now extending that preservation to even the name as part of our efforts to acknowledge the time, labor and craftsmanship that went into these buildings so many years ago.”

Although the name has changed, guests can expect the same Southern charm and hospitality when they stay at The Stanford Inn at Wilderness Road. Bookings can be made at www.thestanfordinn.com or by calling 606-879-0555.
